Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center

Experience outdoor thrills at the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center! From zip-lining and rock climbing to swimming, archery, and creative STEM projects, every day is packed with adventure. Our day camps serve youth ages 6–17, offering age-specific programs that challenge and inspire. Campers explore nature, take on team-building challenges, and develop confidence while making new friends. Meals are included daily, and each week offers a new chance to discover the great outdoors.

Newport Sea Base

Make waves this summer at Newport Sea Base! Campers dive into aquatic adventures like kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, fishing, and marine science labs. Our waterfront location is perfect for hands-on STEM learning and water fun. Choose from AM, PM, or full-day sessions designed for ages 5–17, with programs tailored to different age groups. Campers will enjoy exciting activities on and off the water, building skills and friendships in a safe, supportive setting.

FAQ

All camps are open to both Scouts and non-Scouts! Any child within the listed age ranges (5–17 years old) is welcome to join, regardless of previous Scouting experiencelifornia Adventure entryway. Lost tickets cannot be replaced.

We offer summer camps at two convenient locations in Orange County:

  • Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center (IROEC)Orange, CA, near Irvine Regional Park.
  • Newport Sea Base (NSB)Newport Beach, CA, on the waterfront of Newport Harbor.

All listed programs are day camps. Campers will be dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon. There are no overnight stays.

  • IROEC Day Camps: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
  • Newport Sea Base Camps:
    • AM Sessions: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM.
    • PM Sessions: 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM.
    • Full Day Option: Attend both AM & PM sessions with a supervised lunch break from 12:00–1:00 PM.
  • All camps: Refillable water bottle, sunscreen, hat, and comfortable outdoor clothing. For any aquatic activities: swimsuit, towel, and a change of clothes.
  • IROEC: Lunch is provided.
  • Newport Sea Base: If attending both AM & PM sessions, bring a non-perishable sack lunch for the supervised lunch break.

No swimming ability is required! All water activities are designed with safety in mind. Life jackets are provided and used as needed, and non-swimmers can fully participate in all activities. A simple swim check may be done on the first day for water safety.

Each camp offers unique activities:

  • IROEC Camps: Rock climbing, zip-lining, STEM experiments, archery, hiking, outdoor games, and team-building challenges.
  • Newport Sea Base Camps: Kayaking, paddleboarding, dock fishing, marine science labs, STEM projects, arts & crafts, Slip ‘N Slide fun, and more! Some camps also include squid or shark dissections and creative challenges like cardboard boat races.
