About Us

Since its founding in 1920, the Orange County Council (OCC) has been a leader in shaping youth through character development, leadership training, and outdoor adventure. Starting with a handful of dedicated troops, OCC has grown into one of the most dynamic Scouting America councils in the nation, serving thousands of youth annually.

In 2010s, the Orange County Council expanded its reach with the launch of Outdoor Adventures, creating new opportunities to serve youth beyond the traditional Scouting program. By partnering with a variety of youth-serving organizations, schools, and nonprofits, Outdoor Adventures has brought the transformative power of the outdoors to even more families across the region.

This innovative approach has solidified Scouting America Orange County Council’s position as the leader of youth-serving organizations in Orange County. With premier facilities like the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center, Schoepe Scout Reservation at Lost Valley, and Oso Lake Scout Camp, OCC continues to inspire and empower youth, fostering lifelong memories and a commitment to community service.

Orange County Council is not just about Scouting; it’s a true force for good, shaping the next generation of leaders across diverse communities.

Changing Lives

As a lifelong advocate for the outdoors, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful Scouting is in shaping character, building confidence, and inspiring future leaders.

Every program we run and every camp we host is driven by our mission: We Change Lives. This is more than a statement; it’s our commitment to helping each scout, family, and participant realize their potential and grow.

I am honored to lead Outdoor Adventures as part of Scouting America’s Orange County Council, working with a passionate team to create experiences that uphold our values and lay the groundwork for tomorrow’s leaders.
