Halloween and camping come together for one of Orange County Council’s most popular fall traditions. Oso’s Spooky Halloween Camp returns to Oso Lake Scout Camp for two weekends this October, giving Cub Scout families a chance to enjoy the outdoors with a festive twist.

The weekend is designed for families looking for an easy camping getaway packed with activities. Instead of planning a full campout yourself, you’ll spend the weekend rotating through themed program areas while enjoying the fall atmosphere at Oso Lake.

Choose Your Weekend

  • October 16–18, 2026
  • October 23–25, 2026

Both weekends offer the same activities and schedule.

Activities

Families will rotate through a variety of Halloween-themed adventures, including:

  • Pumpkin-themed archery
  • BB gun range
  • Fishing at Oso Lake
  • Wrist Rocket range
  • The Oso Lake Labyrinth
  • Halloween crafts
  • Costume contests with multiple award categories

The program is designed for Cub Scout-age youth while providing plenty for the entire family to enjoy throughout the weekend.

Who Can Attend?

Oso’s Spooky Halloween Camp welcomes Cub Scout families and also offers registration options for siblings and non-Scout youth, making it an easy event for the entire family to attend together.

Planning Tips

  • Reserve your campsite early, as this event traditionally fills quickly.
  • Pack costumes for both youth and adults if you plan to participate in the contests.
  • Bring a flashlight or lantern for evening activities.
  • Plan simple meals that are easy to prepare at your campsite.
  • October evenings at Oso Lake can be cool, so pack extra layers and warm sleeping gear.
