Mark your calendars. One of Orange County Council’s most popular fall family camping events is returning to Oso Lake.
From October 16–18, 2026, Cub Scouts and their families can enjoy a weekend of Halloween-themed camping, outdoor activities, and seasonal fun at Oso Lake Scout Camp.
The event combines traditional camp favorites with a Halloween twist. Scouts can test their aim at the BB gun range, try pumpkin-themed archery, cast a line in the lake, and experience the camp’s new Wrist Rocket range.
Families can also explore the Oso Lake Labyrinth, create Halloween crafts, and participate in costume contests throughout the weekend.
The costume contests feature several categories, including Best Group Theme and Most Original Costume. Units and families are encouraged to get creative and join the fun.
Oso’s Spooky Halloween Camp offers more than activities. It gives Cub Scouts a chance to enjoy the outdoors, spend time with friends, and create memories with family.
The event is a great fit for both new and experienced campers. New Scouts can experience camping in a welcoming environment. Returning campers can enjoy Oso Lake during one of the most exciting weekends of the year.
