Santa Ana, CA — The Scouting America, Orange County Council proudly hosted its Annual Recognition Dinner this past weekend, bringing together community leaders, volunteers, Scouts, and families for an evening dedicated to celebrating service, leadership, and lasting impact.
The Annual Recognition Dinner is one of the council’s most significant traditions, recognizing individuals whose dedication strengthens Scouting and the broader community. The event honored recipients of the Silver Beaver Award, the highest distinction a local council can bestow upon a volunteer, alongside Scouts who achieved the ranks of Eagle Scout, Quartermaster, and Summit—the highest honors across Scouting America’s programs.
These awards reflect years of commitment, perseverance, and service. Eagle Scouts, in particular, represent a small percentage of participants nationwide who reach Scouting’s highest rank through sustained leadership and community service. Similarly, Quartermasters and Summit Award recipients exemplify excellence in Sea Scouting and Venturing, demonstrating advanced leadership and project-based impact.
The evening highlighted the collective effort behind Scouting’s success. Volunteers recognized with the Silver Beaver Award were honored for their exceptional character, selfless service, and significant contributions not only to Scouting but to youth across their communities.
Beyond individual achievements, the event underscored the broader mission of the Orange County Council—to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices by instilling the values of leadership, service, and responsibility. Through programs spanning outdoor adventure, leadership development, and community engagement, the council continues to serve thousands of youth across Orange County.
“This evening is a reflection of what makes Scouting strong,” said council leadership. “It’s the people—those who give their time, invest in young people, and lead by example—who truly make the difference.”
The Annual Recognition Dinner served not only as a celebration of achievement, but as a reminder of the enduring impact of Scouting. Each honoree represents a ripple effect—leaders who inspire others, strengthen communities, and help shape the next generation.
