A strong Scouting program doesn’t happen by accident. Behind every successful Pack and Troop is a committed, organized committee working to support leaders, strengthen operations, and deliver the best possible experience for youth. This summer, the Orange County Council is offering two focused training opportunities designed to help unit committees do exactly that.
The Troop Committee Challenge, taking place on June 27, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, is built for those supporting Scouts BSA troops. The session explores how committee members work alongside the Scoutmaster to ensure a truly youth-led program, while also handling the structure, planning, and support that allow Scouts to succeed.
The Pack Committee Challenge, on August 15, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, is designed for Cub Scout leaders at all experience levels. This course walks through the fundamentals of running a strong Pack, including program planning, parent engagement, and sustainable fundraising—key elements that keep units growing and thriving.
Both trainings will be held at the Orange County Council Service Center and are ideal for new volunteers looking to understand their role, as well as experienced leaders seeking to strengthen their unit’s foundation.
For those just getting started, these sessions provide clarity and direction in a role that can often feel overwhelming. For seasoned volunteers, they offer a chance to refocus, sharpen skills, and bring renewed energy back to the unit.
Strong committees create strong programs. This is an opportunity to build the structure, leadership, and support that every Scout deserves.
